Does Nudge see my screen?

An app that can look at your screen owes you straight answers. Here they are, in plain English.

Updated Oct 14, 2026 ยท This page summarizes the Privacy Policy, which is the binding version

Short answer

Only in Task Mode, and only while a session you started is running. Your screen is not stored. Not by Nudge. Not by Google. Timer Mode never looks at your screen at all.

Timer Mode: no screen access

Timer Mode is the part of Nudge that locks your apps and gives you timers and the waiting room. It doesn't capture, send or analyze anything on your screen. Ever.

Nudge locks apps through Apple's Screen Time tools. Apple gives Nudge coded app tokens, not a readable list of what you use.

Task Mode: checked, then thrown away

Nudge in-app privacy cards: No Ads, Nudge is 100% ad-free. No Saved Screens, your screen is not stored
The same promise, inside the app.

What we do keep

What we don't do

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes Nudge's data on your phone. Some server records stay for a while: usage counters are scheduled for deletion after 90 days without an update, and purchase records are kept so old purchases can't be reused. Email hello@nudgefocus.co for any data request.

Questions

Does Nudge record my screen?

Not in Timer Mode. In Task Mode, Nudge looks at your screen only after you start a session and iOS shows its screen-broadcast prompt and red indicator. Frames are checked and thrown away. Nothing is saved.

Does Google keep my screenshots?

No. Task Mode uses Google's Vertex AI with zero data retention for screen content, and your data isn't used to train Google's models.

Does Nudge sell my data or show ads?

No. Nudge has no ads and doesn't sell personal information. It makes money from an optional subscription.
