Easy, Medium or Hard: choosing a level
Short answer
Easy lets you in with a timer and no wait. Medium makes your first unlock of the day instant, then adds 10 seconds per unlock, up to a minute, and resets at midnight. Hard is a 10-minute wait every time. Custom lets you set your own. Medium, Hard and Custom are part of Nudge Pro.
| Level | What happens | Pick it for |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | Timers only. No waiting room. | Apps you mostly use well, or your first week |
| Medium | First unlock of the day is instant, then +10 seconds each time, up to 1 minute. Resets at midnight. | Social apps you check too often |
| Hard | 10 minutes every time. Sessions are capped at 10 minutes. You can time it (from 15 minutes to a week). | The one app you're serious about |
| Custom | Your own starting wait, how much each unlock adds, and a maximum. | Fine-tuning |
How to choose

- Start on Medium for the app you check most. The first visit stays easy, and only the habit gets harder.
- Move to Hard if you notice you're waiting out the timer every time without thinking.
- Need a break from the rules? Dropping to an easier level means finishing your current wait first. For a true emergency, the weekly Emergency Pass unblocks everything until midnight.
Why a growing wait works
Most opens happen on autopilot. A wait that grows turns autopilot into a choice, and the choice is easy to make the first time and harder the tenth. More about the waiting room.
